Professional expertise: Richard trained in St Thomas’s Hospital, London and undertook a broad surgical training throughout the UK. This allowed Richard to develop his specialist interest in Plastic Surgery focusing on microsurgical reconstruction and soft tissue reconstruction for trauma and cancer treatment.
He was appointed as a consultant Plastic Surgeon in NNUH in 2005 and led the breast reconstruction and sarcoma services for many years
He was Clinical Director of Plastic Surgery Services for Norfolk and Suffolk for 6 years and sat on Council of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons for 3 years.
Due to his broad scope of work covering the whole body he was appointed as Associate Professor and Head of Anatomy at Norwich Medical School in 2017 and teaches at UEA alongside his clinical work.
Richard is regularly invited to share his experience at National and International meetings. He has published extensively with over 50 publications. He peer reviews articles for The International Journal of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.
